Welcome to Katie's Roadside Rescue!  We are an animal rescue with the primary mission of saving dogs that have been dumped in the country or by the side of the road to fend for themselves.

Sammie is simply a love. She was unloved and unwanted except to make babies to be raised for hog dogs by her previous owner. Her, Stevie and Tiny started visiting from next door and one day they just never went back. Who would with fresh food, water, comfy blankets and beds? We contacted the owner and he didn't care and was glad they were gone. Last year Sammie was hit by a car and the story is that she lay there for 10 days before she was able to get up. They never took her to the vet. She did heal on her own so today she walks and runs like any dog but she has a funny little gait. She has never appeared to be in pain (even after having a litter of puppies). Sammie is hungry for attention and loves and will sit in your lap. She is a goofy girl that likes to chase grasshoppers and lizards and will stay focused until they are found. She always looks like she is laughing. She also used to live with cats so that should be fine. Like Stevie, she has never been inside but I'm sure would learn quickly. Please consider adding her to your family. With a little patience and training you will have the most loyal family member ever.
