Sweet little 9 lb. Missy was found at a river crossing in a rural area. She was spotted on a weekend and it was thought she belonged to someone visiting the river. Monday came along and she was still there hopping around on three legs. KRR was notified and couldn't say no with a cold front coming. Missy stayed in isolation for the first few days because of her red and raw skin and because she simply needed to rest. She slept for three days straight snuggled in plush blankets before making a trip to the vet. Her hair loss was due to flea dermatitis, she has had babies all of her life, she had small mass in her mammory glands, has no upper front teeth, cataract in one eye and the most heart breaking is her front leg. At some time in her life she suffered a compound fracture of the first joint and also lost 1/2 of her foot. She has lived this way for many years and has learned to use her stump for support. The leg seems to cause her no discomfort at all so it has been decided to leave it alone at her age. Missy is super sweet and affectionate. She gets along with the other foster dogs, likes being carried and especially likes sleeping in the big bed with her people. She is approximately 9 years old and has a lot of life to live yet. Please consider adding this very special tiny lady to your home either as a foster or permanently. You will not be disappointed. She has been fully vetted, tumor removed, spayed and just needs a quiet retirement home.
