Update 4-26-12 - Can we say Love Bug!!! This kid is so sweet and gentle and has even gotten to sleep in the big bed a few times. He lays his head on my shoulder and he's out! He is 99% potty pad, doggy door trained, sits for his food and wants to curl on your lap (he doesn't know he will eventually get too big to completey fit there). Shrek loves children and does great with other dogs. He is up to date on vaccines and is neutered. He's only waiting on you!
Update 3/18/12. They are doing great and growing so fast! Shrek's hair is a deep chocolate that looks as sweet as he is. He is doing great with potty pad and doggy door training. He loves to be held and give kisses. He's almost ready for your home - about another week.
Shrek and Fiona were left at a dead end road in a box with no food or water left for them. They looked and smelled horrible but came running for love and attention with the hopes they would be saved. Their skin was bright red, inflamed, wrinkled, infected and hot to the touch. They were covered in ticks and so full of worms they looked like pot-bellied pigs. Off to the vet they went! They did not have mange, just flea dermatitis and a secondary skin infection. They got bathed, dipped, medicated, wormed and are on antibiotics. As soon as they are done with meds they will go to be spayed and neutered and available for adoption in about two weeks. Shrek (the solid colored one) is a true little boy and wants to romp and play. Fiona (red and white) is more reserved and quiet like a sweet girl should be. Please considering opening your hearts and your home and adopt one or both of these little guys. And the fun thing - they are doing really good about going outside and/or using the potty pad! They are very smart and try to listen and understand the rules. Better pictures will come soon. Right now they don't have very much hair.
