About Charles | |

|
Charles is a sweet, lovable, happy-go-lucky kind of dog. His history is unknown. He's young as you can tell by his activity level. He is so eager to please and get love. The night he was found he had a bloody lip and when taken to the vet it looked like he may have been bumped by a car and lost his bottom canine and several of his front teeth. This DOES NOT affect his love for chewing his toys or eating. He has met several of the other rescue dogs and doesn't seem to mind big or small, male or female. I don't think I would trust this boy with cats. Charles is a great dog with a lot of love to give.
NOTE FROM TRAINER:
Yellow lab “Charles” is an outstanding companion dog that was a joy to work with. He is very devoted and wants to be with you. Very quiet dog and does very little barking if any. He started boot camp knowing nothing and is advancing quickly. He will NOT respond to his name, as I did NOT train name recognition. Many people change a dogs name after adopting. He loves the learning process and being near people and other dogs. He tries hard to please and enjoys learning. He definitely needs a job to do such as a dog sport that will engage his mind along with a full body workout. You can visit AKC.org to learn more about dog sports.
He needs daily mental and physical stimulation or his energy level will rise substantially. At least an hour a day of combined walks and training or dog sports. Leaving him in an apt or backyard all day in not enough exercise or enrichment at his early age. He is currently enrolled in the Street dog rehab program Charles has had a month of pro board and train, covering basic manners, foundation field training, beginning agility and freestyle tricks. I encourage you to enroll both him and you in a local group dog training class to continue his training career. Look for affordable dog club training near your home by googling dog clubs with your zip code or visit AKC.org or APDT.com. His next step would be to earn a AKC "Canine good citizen" award. You can learn more about the CGC program at AKC website. Charles is a wonderful happy dog in good health and he will be a outstanding dog making countless friends along the way. If you have any questions or updates you can contact the trainer at rstucker3@sbcglobal.net
